The event that presents you with the best experiences of Stockholm

During five hectic days, from 2nd to 6th June 2010, Stockholm puts on display the best the city can offer in terms of food, beverage, entertainment and culture.

”Smaka På Stockholm” or ”A Taste Of Stockholm” is an annual event arranged for the 7th year by the organisation The Restaurants Day in cooperation with the Stockholm Visitors Board.

For the last nineteen years The Restaurants’ Day has given its visitors the opportunity to literally taste everything that Stockholm has to offer. Eating and drinking in Kungsträdgården – a park in the town centre – is still a large part of the Event, but you can sample so much more.

”Smaka På Stockholm” also provides you with a chance to taste it’s culture and entertainment. The Swedish National Day, June 6th, is a bank holiday with a lot of entertainment and happenings all over the city.

The stage in Kungsträdgården present a wide variety of entertainment. You will be able to enjoy everything from Big Band Music to Sixteenth Century Ballads to Rock´n Roll. And it’s all for free!

– We support “Smaka På Stockholm” because we want to present the fantastic variety of experiences available in Stockholm, says Annika Billström, former Mayor of Stockholm.

– We also want to display Stockholm as the foremost City in Sweden, if not Scandinavia, says Py Börjesson, Deputy Mayor, in charge of Sports and chairman of Stockholm Visitors Board.

Smaka på Stockholm is Sweden’s largest annual event with more than four hundred thousand visitors. Kungsträdgården is, as usual, the hub with a fantastic variety of food and drinks. A wide selection of Stockholm’s best restaurants will participate along with the best chefs in Sweden during this five-day event. While you’re there don’t miss "The Chef’s Theatre" – Kockteatern, with at least two cooking duel’s every day. And again it doesn’t cost you anything to watch.
